Outdoor rehearsals mean sun, sweat, and preparation. Your student will need:

  • Sunscreen – Start stocking up now.
  • Labeled water jug – Large & cold is best!
  • Hat & sunglasses – Wide Brimmed Hats and Bucket hats are the gold standard. Gotta love Marching Band Fashion!!!
  • Athletic shoes – No sandals, boots, Crocs, bulky shoes, or high-tops.
  • Keep Cool, school-appropriate clothing
  • Working instrument – Brass players: ALL tuning slides must move; No excessive dents; and a mouthpiece that doesn’t look like it got run over by a semi-truck. Woodwind players: bring quality reeds (clarinets and saxes) and backup reeds; be sure your pads are sealing; check for bent keys. Flutes; no major dents
